BML’s Community Fund supports to establish an outdoor reading park in Sh. Milandhoo School

An outdoor reading park has been opened at Sh. Milandhoo School with support from the BML Community Fund. The park was opened by island-based NGO, Milandhoo Sports Club.

The outdoor reading park is established as part of Milandhoo School’s 75th Anniversary with the aim of instilling a love for reading.

Commenting on the project, winner of the proposal Ahmed Sameeh, Vice President of Milandhoo Sports Club stated, “We hope that with this initiative, the students get the opportunity and space to experience and understand the importance of reading. We would like to thank BML and the Women’s Empowerment Organization in Milandhoo for supporting this initiative.”

Bank of Maldives recently announced the 10 winning proposals for the first phase of its Community Fund for the year. The Community Fund is a program to empower NGOs to contribute to their communities through sustainable projects. As of today, the Bank has provided financial assistance for 90 projects across the country through this Fund.
