Pakistan celebrates 75th Independence Day

The High Commission of Pakistan in the Maldives celebrated their 75th Independence Day.
The day’s events were organized by the Pakistan Maldives Friendship Association (PMFA). Vice Admiral (R) Ather Mukhtar. High Commissioner of Pakistan, senior figures at the High Commission, and local figures attended the day’s events.
In his address, Vice Admiral Mukhtar said the relationship between the two countries were based on ‘common ideals and principles, religion, historic links and common culture’. He added that Pakistan will remain committed to strengthening bilateral ties in all field.

The Commissioner’s address also focused on the plight of Muslims, especially that of those in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.
The guest of honor was Musthafa Hussain, the Ambassador of Maldives to Pakistan during the tenure of former President Ibrahim Nasir.
Hussain addressed the ceremony, talking about his experiences in the post.
President of Pakistan Maldives Friendship Association (PMFA) Masood Imad also addressed the event, talking about the friendship between the two countries. He said the organization remains committed to further strengthening the relationship between the two nations.
