Nazeeha Ahmed, sibling of First Lady, has been promoted to General Manager position at Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Ltd (MIFCO), at a newly formed department at the state-owned enterprise.
Nazeeha was previously serving as a consultant for the company. She was appointed to the position a year back at a salary of US$ 3,000 per month.
The Business Development and Production department was a recently created one. Sources report that her new position has a bigger paycheck.
Nazeeha is sibling to First Lady Fazna Ahmed and wife to Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed. The Solih administration has been dubbed as a bastion of nepotism, with several close allies and family members serving in key positions, irrespective of conflicts of interest.
