Opposition leader former President Abdullah Yameen has launched one of his harshest criticisms of the current administration, calling it a ‘demonocracy’.
The former President had his twitter account verified last week. Since joining the twitter verse, President Yameen has expressed his extreme dissatisfaction of the administration and their alliance with the Indian government.
President Yameen said the current administration is a ‘demonocracy’, adding that the leaders of the administration are imposters, thieves, and traitors.
He also said that there was a ‘bellicose puppet master’, who pull the strings too hard, causing ‘accomplices [to] fall out one by one, seeking redemption’. They all, he said, are traitors.
Speculation is rife that the ‘puppet master’ indicated in the tweet is a reference to India and the ongoing war of words between MPD leader former President Mohamed Nasheed and incumbent President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
