Govt Paid Media Outlets Out Of Public Money To Praise President Solih's Address Tomorrow: MP Saeed

MP Mohamed Saeed (PNC-Maavashu), the Vice President of the opposition People's National Congress, has claimed that some news media have been "paid to promote" President Solih's presidential address at the Majlis opening session tomorrow.
In a tweet posted earlier this afternoon, MP Saeed claimed that the government had spent between MVR25,000 and MVR150,000 "from tax money" to pay media outlets to promote tomorrow's address.
MP Saeed stated that had the Solih administration achieved results, they would not have had to pay media outlets to praise them.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is scheduled to speak at the Majlis on at the Majlis' opening session at 9am tomorrow. This will be President Solih's fourth presidential address.
The presidential address is mandated by the 84th article of the constitution.
