Shahid And Mariya Compelled To Go To Komandoo: MP Saeed

MP Mohamed Saeed (PNC-Maavashu), the Vice-President of the opposition PNC, stated that Defence Minister Mariya Didi and Foreign Minister Abdullah Shahid went on campaign to Komandoo (Shaviyani Atoll) because "they were compelled to do so".

MP Saeed made the statement on Twitter in response to Defence Minister Mariya Didi's visit to Komandoo to urge its residents to not vote for Moosa Fathuhy, the opposition's candidate. The Defence Minister was accompanied by armed security personnel.

MP Saeed said that both Shahid and Mariya were "compelled" to go to Komandoo, and they would have chosen to not go had they a choice in the matter.

In addition, MP Saeed stated that the people used the slogan "India Out" because Indian military personnel had been stationed in the Maldives. He mentioned this in response to Ministers Shahid and Mariya's comments made in Komandoo against the "India Out" movement.
