5 Agreements Signed Between China And Maldives

The Maldives and China signed five agreements during a ceremony held at the Foreign Ministry yesterday afternoon.
Wang Yi, the Chinese Foreign Minister, had held talks with the Maldivian Foreign Minister at the Foreign Ministry during an official visit to the Maldives. After the talks, both countries signed five bilateral agreements at a ceremony held at the Ministry.
One of the agreements was on conducting a feasibility study regarding the maintenance and repair of the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge, which connects Male City and Hulhumale. Planning Minister Mohamed Aslam signed the agreement on behalf of the Maldivian government. Zhang Maoyu, the Vice Chariman of the China International Development Coorperation Agency signed on behalf of China.
In addition, a bilateral agreement to exempt Maldivian nationals from requiring visas to enter China had also been signed; State Minister of the Foreign Ministry, Khalil, signed on behalf of the Maldives. The Chinese ambassador to the Maldives signed on behalf of China.
Another agreement to provide the Maldives with technical economic assistance had also been signed.
An agreement on providing bilateral assistance to hospitals had also been signed between the two countries. Health Minister, Ahmed "Kerafa" Naseem, signed on behalf of the Maldives, and the Chinese ambassador signed on behalf of China.
In addition to the signing of these agreements, a logo celebrating the 50th year of ties between the Maldives and China had also been inaugurated.
