Yameen To Address The Public On Friday After Absence Of Two Years

The opposition coalition announced that the former President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayyoom will address the public this Friday at the Carnival area. This will be the former President's first public address in two years.
During a news conference held at the PPM office on Wednesday, Ibrahim Shujau; the Hulhumale member of the Male City Council; announced that a special rally, in which the former President would participate, would be held on Friday night.
According to Shujau, the rally would be held in the Carnival area, and the former President Yameen would address the public.
The former President has been absent from political life following a 2019 Criminal Court verdict that had sentenced him to five years in prison. He was acquitted of all charges by the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
