Support For Yameen On The Rise: PPM

The opposition Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has said, on the 10th anniversary of its inception, support for its leader, the former President Yameen Abdul Gayyoom is on the rise.
In a statement released to celebrate its 10th anniversary, the PPM said that it was a political party that had made the biggest strides. It highlighted its victory at the 2013 presidential elections, and the 2014 parliamentary elections.
The statement read that the 5 years of the Yameen administration saw huge development projects for the country. Former President Yameen had worked to provide job opportunities and self-sufficiency for citizens of the Maldives.
The statement read that the party’s greatest challenge has been the arrest and the “unjust” incarceration of the party’s leader, former President Yameen. The statement read that many citizens worked hard to free the party leader, and the result of that cumulative effort was the PPM’s recent victory at the local council elections.
The statement read that many Maldivian citizens believed that the only leader that could lead the country out of its current troubles was none other than the former President Yameen. The Party also stated that all citizens who had followed his court hearing believed that the verdict against him was unjust.
The statement therefore said that it was for these reasons that support for former President Yameen was increasing, day by day; and stated that the citizens who would work to free him and elect him back to office in 2023 were increasing by the thousands.
