Nazim Abdul Sattar has submitted a filed a complaint with the Judicial Services Commission. As the legal representation of Save the Dream Maldives Pvt Ltd, he filed a complaint accusing High Court judges of misconduct during the legal dispute between Save the Dream Maldives Pvt Ltd and Mahal Traders Pvt Ltd.
Save The Dream Maldives Pvt Ltd had taken over the management of Rihiveli Resort through a sub-lease agreement until that agreement was nullified by Mahal Traders. The Civil Court ruled in favour of Mahal Traders, and Save The Dream appealed to the High Court.
In a letter sent by Abdus Sattar to JSC President Hisan Hussain, he had written that the appeals process had ended after he had requested for a delay in executing the sentence.
He said that he was informed that the resort's management had already been handed over to another party, and that preparations were underway for the resort's re-opening on November 15.
He wrote that although he had requested the High Court to quickly make a decision regarding his request to delay the sentencing, no further hearings had been held by the High Court, and his letter had gone unanswered.
Nazim Sattar is the younger brother of President Mohammed Nasheed, who is also a member of the Judicial Service Commission. President of JSC Hisan Hussein used to be Nasheed's lawyer and a family friend of Nasheed and Nazim.
The High Court judges overlooking this case are Judge Hussain Shafeeu, and Judge Hussain Maeed, and Judge Ali Sameer.
