Two more individuals have been accused of being connected to the May 6th bomb attack on Mohamed Nasheed, the Speaker of the Majlis and the former President.
Several individuals have already been arrested and are currently standing trials on charges of terrorism. Adhuham Rasheed, the state's prime suspect in the case, had confessed to the crime.
The two individuals facing charges are Abdullah Ali Manik and Mohamed Thasleem.
Ali Manik had already been serving a sentence on a terrorism charge when he was granted clemency and allowed to go free.
Both Ali Manik and Thasleem are being charged with supporting a terrorist organisation. According to the Maldives Police Service, both Ali Manik and Thasleem were actively involved in the attack on Nasheed.
