Queue of 10,000 waiting to consult at the IGMH

There are more than 10,000 patients in queue to consult Specialist doctors and do tests at Indhra Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). The information was reported by the online news “Mihaaru”.
More than 1 lakh people are living in the capital city Male’ and IGMH is the only hospital that ‘covers all expenses through Asandha. Therefore, most people tend to go to IGMH for medicals.
As per “Mihaaru” news till last night those in queues to consult Specialist doctors are 1,145 for Internal Medicine, 716 in the queue to consult a Neurologist, 630 in the queue to consult a Nephrologist, 2,648 in the queue to consult a Psychologist, for Pulmonologist 948, for Urologist 425 and queue to consult a Gynaecologist 290.
Therefore, in total, more than 10,000 patients are waiting in queue to consult Specialist doctors. Due to having to wait in queue for such a long-time extreme difficulties are faced by patients. Those who come from islands to consult doctors are also faced with many difficulties.
