President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu officially inaugurated Dharumavantha Hospital as a tertiary-level hospital, marking a significant milestone in the Maldives' health sector. During a ceremony at the hospital, he unveiled the logo for The Male' City Group of Hospitals and introduced several new healthcare services.
The newly inaugurated services include a dedicated fertility centre, a hybrid cardiac catheterisation lab (Cath lab), and a Children’s Emergency Room (ER). The President emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing healthcare, noting that these additions aim to provide advanced medical care locally.
Following the inauguration, President Muizzu toured the new facilities and reviewed their capabilities, which he described as integral to advancing the nation’s healthcare services.
This development aligns with the President’s earlier pledge, made during the Republic Day ceremony, to upgrade both Dharumavantha Hospital and Hulhumalé Hospital to tertiary-level facilities. The President is set to inaugurate Hulhumalé Hospital on Saturday.
These upgrades signify a broader governmental effort to bolster healthcare infrastructure and services across the Maldives, ensuring improved access to high-quality medical care for citizens.
