Former Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has stated that all the ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) does is loot the nation.
During the “Addana” event held by the opposition Progressive Congress Coalition, Dr. Jameel claimed that the public has shown the government a powerful scene, and that the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) is the largest, exemplary, and strongest political party in the Maldives.
As per Dr. Jameel, former President Yameen Abdul Gayoom was the most confident, capable, and educated leader of the nation, with no other like him. He attributed the opposition coalition’s strength to the former president’s forethoughtfulness.
The former VP said that MDP has devoured the nation and put it up for sale. He highlighted the talks of mortgaging various Maldivian schools, stating that the government has sold Dhapparu, Haa Alif Atoll. The current government has not brought any development and all it has done in addition to selling the nation is stealing, said Dr. Jameel.
He added that while the public is facing numerous issues during the MDP regime, the government’s only aim is to frame and fabricate evidence against former President Yameen. Noting that former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb was rewarded with house arrest in exchange for testifying against President Yameen, Dr. Jameel claimed that no one really believes that Adeeb was transferred to his home as he requires a machine to sleep.
Although MDP came into power by vowing to establish justice, the former vice president said that it has failed drastically. He further claimed that MDP uses the word “justice” incorrectly.
