President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that no one has any compromising material on him.
The president made his statement during the press conference at the President’s Office on Wednesday. A journalist inquired whether Ali Waheed, who is facing several charges of sexual misconduct, is being differentiated following former Home Minister Umar Naseer’s claim that Waheed possesses material that may compromise the president.
President Solih assured that no one has any compromising material on him.
Highlighting how former Tourism Minister Ali Waheed’s matter proceeded, the president stated that he met with the tourism ministry employees following the accusations. The decision to terminate the minister was based upon their accounts.
President Solih claimed that he reported the matter to police after removing Ali Waheed from his position as minister. The police have now completed the investigation, sent the matter to the Prosecutor General for prosecution, and the matter is now in court, said the president.
According to the president, he cannot be influenced during the court proceedings. He iterated that he would assure whether all matters in all phases of the matter were conducted appropriately.
