The Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) has made prosecution decisions regarding the May 6 terrorist attack on former President Nasheed.
Prosecutor General Hussain Shameem tweeted today that the PGO has made several prosecution decisions in relation to the attack on former President and incumbent Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed. He stated that the PGO will elaborate on the decisions at a press conference tomorrow at 2 pm.
Police have sent the cases of five suspects to the PGO for prosecution. The five suspects were the first to be arrested on suspicion of orchestrating the explosion as President Nasheed made his way towards his residence on May 6.
After initial treatment in Male’, Nasheed is currently seeking further treatment in the United Kingdom.
