Vice President of opposition Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon has stated that PPM will bring former President Yameen back to power after proving his innocence.
During a program on Raajje TV on Monday night, Ghassan's father and former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom claimed that Yameen will not be able to partake in the elections.
Ghassan tweeted today that with PPM's efforts and public support, President Yameen will assume office in 2023 after his innocence is justly proven.
While Ghassan has stated as such, the verdict in President Yameen's case was appealed in High Court and has now been sent to the Supreme Court.
