Remand for the 17-year-old Maldivian male arrested on suspicion of being involved in the brutal murder of a missing 13-year-old found in the waters on Hulhumale’, Phase 2 has been increased by 15 days.
Police revealed that the court increased the 17-year-old’s remand by 15 days on July 20. This is the third time his remand has been increased. Those arrested regarding the case so far are 17-year-old and 27-year-old Maldivian males.
The older suspect was initially determined to be held in remand until the end of the investigation. The body of the missing child was discovered by police around 02.38 am on June 21 during a search. Police previously reported that the body was found dumped in the waters near Phase 2, Hulhumale’.
