Parliament representative for Addu-Maradhoo constituency Ibrahim Shareef has stated that patricians of Male’ have been bullying people from Addu.
Shareef tweeted saying that bullying people from Addu when they speak on politics has become a planned, common occurrence among the patricians of Male’. He condemned the act.
In his tweet, he tagged former President Mohamed Nasheed, MP Hassan Latheef, MP Imthiyaz Fahmy, and MP Aslam.
It is assumed that Shareef posted his tweet following members of Maldives Democratic Party (MDP) rebutting MP Aslam’s tweet criticizing Nasheed indirectly.
While the division within MDP has become more apparent, members of the party’s two factions have been launching verbal attacks aimed at each other on social media.
