Captain (Rtd) Ali Ihusaan, former Captain of the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), has stated that the deep state in Maldives is the foreign state running within the Maldivian state.
Captain Ihusaan has made his statement amidst former President and incumbent Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed’s claims of a deep state in Maldives. Home Minister Sheikh Imran Abdulla has falsified Speaker Nasheed’s claims, reiterating that there is no such deep state.
The retired captain tweeted today that the deepest state currently in Maldives is the foreign state running within the Maldivian state.
Although he did not specify which country, it is assumed he was gesturing to India. The issue of India influencing matters of Maldives’ national security has become heated.
Captain Ihusaan stated that if the country is not saved from the foreign state running a deep state, it is unlikely for future generations in Maldives to see the “light” of independence.
He further stated that steps must be taken against the state being run by a foreign country within the Maldivian state and that it is a national duty.
