Cpt Ihusan to India High Commission: Stop Meddling with Domestic Affairs

Former Captain of Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) Ali Ihusaan calls for the High Commission of India to stop interfering with domestic affairs.

In his tweet, Ihusaan stated that the High Commission needed to start acting like a high commission, not like the President’s Office or state organization. He further stated that Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) already exists for such ventures, and would have significantly less mobilization and exchange rates. He then demanded India stop meddling in home affairs.

Many are unsettled by the High Commission of India being responsible for publicizing information regarding loans from India for development projects, instead of the Maldivian government. No other embassies or high commissions in the Maldives are allowed to do as such.
