Mayor of Male’ City Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the citizens of Male’ require justice in several matters.
Dr. Muizzu responded to a tweet by former President and incumbent Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed regarding the inconveniences, difficulties, and dangers faced by those residing in the vicinities of State Electric Company Ltd (STELCO) engines.
Former President Nasheed tweeted that the engines in Male’ have become a disaster for Male’ residents, and have caused health issues, and several other dangers.
He also claimed that STELCO’s expansion of its engines is against laws and regulations, and allowing the company to do further work without rectifying the matter is a crime.
The mayor stated he has also spoken of the difficulties faced by residents in the areas, and that STELCO’s expansion into some streets and alleys of Male’ is unlawful.
