President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed the elder brother of Minister of Economic Development Ismail Fayyaz to a political position.
Hussain Ismail, brother of Fayyaz, has been appointed as the Minister of State for Youth, Sports, and Community Empowerment.
According to the President's Office, Hussain Ismail holds a Diploma in Marketing and Tourism Development Planning from a Belgian university.
Before his appointment, Hussain Ismail has been the President of Fonadhoo, Laamu Atoll constituency in the Maldives Democratic Party (MDP) National Majilis. He is also the Chairman of Heat Health and Fitness.
He has previously held several positions within the government, having served as the Deputy Minister of Human Resources, Youth, and Sports.
