Spokesperson at the President's Office Mabrook Abdul Azeez declared that the President has not received the report complied after the parliamentary inquiry into the May 6 terror attack on former President and incumbent Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed.
Mabrook revealed the parliament has yet to present the report on the parliamentary inquiry that includes classified information to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
While Mabrook has stated as such, the version of the report initially published on the parliament's website allowed for anyone to view the hidden classified text. The information that the parliament declared was a threat to national security was also visible.
Although the report was then removed, the whole document has now been leaked. A version of the report with the classified information visible was leaked on the internet, including details of the operations of Police and Defense Intelligence Services.
The report also included the number of bodyguards assigned to former President Nasheed and details of security measures. It has been observed that the details pose an additional threat to the safety of the former president.
Mabrook further stated that although the parliament has not officially presented the report, the report published on the parliament's website is currently being analyzed.
It is worth noting that the answers provided by Minister of Defense Mariya Didi during the inquiry had been extremely irresponsible, and that the Chief of Defense refused to answer several vital questions.
