Was Summoned to ACC Through Government Influence: Dr. Muizzu

PPM Male' City Mayoral candidate has alleged that he was summoned to the Anti Corruption Commission for political purposes. He further alleged that the government had influenced th ecommission to summon him to the commission today.

Dr. Muizzu had presented himself at the commission during the hours of morning. He was summoned to the commission regarding the agreement signed with Strada Pvt. Ltd. awarding them the agreement project of constructing the bridge viewing platform. The commission inquired about the structural changes brought to the area and surrounding buildings.

He arrived at the commission without any legal counsel today. His reasoning was that he was not informed of why he was being summoned to the commission initially. He has also stated that at 10:25 in the morning tomorrow, he will present himself to the commission with legal counsel and answer all relevant questions pertaining the case. He further stated that his suspicion is that this is to disrupt his campaigning for LCE, and that this only gives him more courage.

After entering ACC, he was asked to return for a second time after his departure for reasons which are unclear.

PPM's Council Member and Strada's previous owner Zahid Rameez has stated that charges might be brought against Dr. Muizzu in the case of Newport.
