The highest number of tourist arrivals in to the country this month, was yesterday.
According to the data released from Ministry of Tourism, 4509 tourists entered Maldives yesterday. And on an average, 3239 tourists enter Maldives daily.
Coupled with yesterday, the sum total of tourist arrivals to Maldives has reached 255,903 tourists. In January, 92,103 tourists visited and 96,882 tourists visited last month. In this month of March so far, 66,918 tourists have visited Maldives.
After borders closed due to COVID19 and reopened on 15th of July, the most tourist arrivals were from neighboring India and Russia. The most priority given to for advertising Maldives is also the aforementioned countries.
Ministry of Tourism stated that after borders reopened for tourists, 45,527 beds have been in used in service for tourists, from 682 different facilities, which is a 149 resorts, 358 guesthouses, 137 safaris and 11 tourist hotels.
