Majlis Speaker, Mohamed Nasheed, had alleged that members of the armed forces had attempted to assault his wife and daughters in the events that had unfolded prior to his impromptu resignation nearly a decade ago, on February 7, 2012.
On an interview with SanguTV, he said that the first thing that the police had attempted to do was to assault the women of his family; and had gone for his wife, Laila Ali, and their daughters, Zaya and Mira.
Speaker Nasheed that he held no grudges about the harm, danger, and loss he had suffered. However he said that other people had to decide whether or not to hold grudges about what they themselves had faced.
Speaker Nasheed said that he would not stop speaking about February 7. He said that he would win in his struggle to change things for the better.
