President Solih and Govt Elites Among First To Get Vaccine

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih among the first to be vaccinated through the national programme to administer the COVID-19 vaccine.
The first people to be vaccinated through this programme were the heads of each of the three heads of state; President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Majlis Speaker Mohamed Nasheed, and Chief Justice Mutasim Adnan.
The first person to be vaccinated through the programme had been IGMH physician, Dr Shirani Abdul Rahim. After her, the second person to be vaccinated had been a nurse, R. N. Kaarutiken, who works at the Hulhumale Facility. The third person to be vaccinated had been Ibrahim Naseer, a diabetes patient.
The heads of the branches of government were vaccinated after them. After each vaccination, each of the three officials were handed a vaccination card.
They had been vaccinated with the first dose of the Indian-manufactured CoviShield vaccine. They will be requiring a second dose two weeks later.
Some Ministers had also been vaccinated in addition to the three heads of government. Among them, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Shahid, Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi, Minister of Gender Aishath Mohamed Didi, and Minister of Health Ahmed "Kerafa" Naseem.
