The Ministry of Housing, Planning, and Infrastructure had announced that construction on several housing units would begin on December 2020. Construction has still not begun.
During a November interview with the ruling party’s media channel, RaajjeTV, celebrating two years of presidency: President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had said that construction on the housing units would begin in December.
Speaking to “The Press” in December, the Ministry of Housing had said that 1,000 housing units would begun construction that year. To date, no cornerstone for any of the units had been laid.
The Ministry of Housing was unavailable for comment.
