WAMCO Fined MVR 1 Million

The Waste Management Company (WAMCO) has been fined MVR 1 million for repeatedly dumping garbage into the Thilafushi lagoon.

WAMCO was established during the Yameen administration for the purposes of garbage collection and disposal. Currently, the company operates only in Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, and the Greater Malé Region.
