The former Vice President, Ahmed Adeeb, is being lodged at Ameen Avenue in order to "destroy" the PPM/PNC, the leader of the opposition, former President Yameen Abdul Gayyoom, has said.
The former president made the statement through head of his legal team, the former vice president, Dr Mohamed Jameel Ahmed. Speaking to press after the hearings over the charges levied by the State against the former president, Dr Jameel said that all of the Yameen's "suffering" had been caused by Adeeb.
'Why did he harm me so?', the former president had said. We were all there. 'I'm facing all of this trouble because of Adeeb, and how many people were deceived by him'.
Dr Jameel further stated that the former president believed that the greatest challenged faced by the PPM/PNC is Adeeb, and that Adeeb was given accommodation at Ameen Avenue; a luxury apartment complex in Hulhumale; for the primary purpose of destroying the PPM/PNC.
The work of destroying the PPM/PNC had already begun, said Dr Jameel. The former president mourns greatly about it, he said. Dr Jameel also mentioned that the former president's legal team were operating in the face of many obstacles.
