ACC asked to investigate lack of opportunity to lodge complaints over flat lists

Applicants of Hiyaa Housing Project have begun to lodge cases with the anti-corruption watchdog ACC over inadequate deadlines given to submit complaints regarding the tentative list of residents of H7 category.
According to a statement released by Aanmunge Ekuveri Gulhun, an NGO representing the interests of Hiyaa applicants, releasing the permanent list of residents without providing adequate opportunity to submits complaints is a violation of the rights of thousands of people.
According to the organization, its appeals have not been heard by any relevant authorities. The organization also stated they were instructed by some members of the flat committee to submit complaints to the ACC.
The organization has also requested Housing Minister Mohamed Aslam and Member of flat committee Thoha to meet the Hiyaa Housing Scheme applicants and listen to their concerns.
They have also warned that encroaching on the applicant’s rights to submit complaints will create more complex issues that are difficult to solve and would waste more time. The organization also warned that such decisions will cause irreparable harm to the public.
