Individual who hid Bobby’s murder weapon fined

The Criminal Court has ruled to fine a female who hid Abdul Muheeth’s (Bobby) murder weapon with 1500 Maldivian Rufiyaa.

The state charged an individual named Aminath Rasheedha in this case. She was charged with obstruction of police responsibilities. She was charged for hiding the weapon and because she had lied to the authorities investigating the case by saying she had no prior knowledge regarding the case. In her first statement to the police, she noted that she hid the weapon because one of her children took the knife.

The state charged 3 individuals regarding the murder of Abdul Muheeth who was murdered inside the alley in front of the Finance Ministry in February 2012. The individuals are Mohamed Maimoon, Zaithoonige, Lh.Naifaru, Muhujath Ahmed Nasih, Ablaeege, GDh.Gadhdhoo and Ali Mushaffau, Sultan Villaa, S.Maradhoo. Mushaffau was later acquitted by the Criminal Court.
