Emirates has increased the number of flights operating to the Maldives. According to Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) the decision to increase flight operations was implemented from the 11th of December. MACL further stated that Emirates will be operating 3 flights to the country daily.
Apart from Emirates, Sri Lankan Airlines have also increased its operations from London to Velana International Airport from 13th December. According to MACL scheduled flights between London and Velana International Airport will be operated by Sri Lankan Airlines twice per week.
Along with Emirates and Sri Lankan Airlines, Qatar Airways will also be operating 3 flights per week to the country. Apart from these operators, Bahrein’s national airline Gulf Air has also commenced its operations in the Maldives.
Several Airlines have resumed operations to the Maldives after the borders were opened on 15th July after Covid-19 border closures. Currently, 25 airlines have commenced flights to the Maldives.
