MTCC Seeks Public Feedback on West Park Fish Market Redevelopment

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has launched a public survey to gather views and feedback on a project to redevelop the fish market platform located in the West Park area of northwestern Malé.
According to MTCC, the survey will remain open from August 18 to August 31. Separate online forms have been made available in both Dhivehi and English to allow members of the public to submit their views.
The redevelopment project involves reconstructing the existing fish market platform, including the installation of piles and a piled foundation. The survey is intended to gather public concerns and opinions for inclusion in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report, which will assess the potential environmental impacts of the project.
The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development, with MTCC serving as the contractor. MTCC has urged as many members of the public as possible to complete the survey and share their feedback before work proceeds.
The wider redevelopment of the Malé market area and surrounding Boduthakurufaanu Magu corridor has been the subject of several ongoing infrastructure projects in recent months.
