SME Digital has invited vendors to register on its platform, marking the first time such an opportunity has been made available to suppliers of all types of goods and services.
In a statement, SME Digital confirmed that registration is now open to any individual or business interested in supplying products or services through the platform. The initiative aims to expand the pool of vendors available to applicants seeking financing, thereby improving access to goods and services across the country.
Interested parties can complete a vendor registration form to enrol and begin offering their services. Vendors from across the Maldives have already registered, indicating growing engagement with the platform.
SME Digital noted that formal registration is expected to address challenges such as limited access to financing and issues related to the non-delivery of goods and services. By streamlining vendor participation, the platform aims to enhance reliability and transparency in transactions.
Previously, Managing Director Baduruddin Hassan stated that the company’s objective goes beyond providing financing, highlighting its role in supporting small businesses throughout their development.
Through accessible small-scale financing, the platform has enabled new ideas to develop into income-generating ventures, particularly benefiting young people, freelancers, and individuals working from home.
In addition, SME Digital has introduced specialised financing schemes aimed at promoting the economic empowerment of women entrepreneurs, further strengthening financial inclusion nationwide.
As one of the leading institutions supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in the Maldives, SME Digital has provided financial assistance to businesses across 189 islands, covering all atolls in the country.
