Body of Missing Indian Crew Member Recovered After Falling Overboard Near Vilimale

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has confirmed that its Coast Guard 2nd Squadron under the Male’ Area Command has retrieved the body of the Indian crew member who fell into the sea from the cargo vessel MSV Daulah.

The incident occurred late Monday night, around 11:35 p.m., as the ship was near Vilimale’. Following the report, MNDF launched an extensive sea and air search operation. Initially, the crew member was reported missing, and the search continued overnight into Tuesday morning.

In an update on social media, MNDF announced that the body had been recovered and subsequently handed over to the Maldives Police Service for further investigation.

Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the circumstances of the fall.
