The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has announced that “Tradian,” the Maldives’ National Single Window platform for import-export and border trade facilitation, will officially commence operations on Sunday, September 21, 2025.
Developed to streamline and modernize trade operations at the country’s borders, Tradian aims to significantly reduce time and costs associated with maritime trade processes. The platform consolidates essential services into a single digital portal, simplifying interactions for importers, exporters, freight forwarders, and shipping agents.
Tradian will be operated by Tradenet Maldives Corporation Limited in collaboration with the Maldives Customs Service, Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
According to a joint announcement by the participating agencies, four critical border-related services will become exclusively available via the Tradian platform starting September 21. These are:
- Foreign Going Vessel Registration
- Vessel Arrival/Departure Information Submission (ETA/ETD)
- Sea Cargo Manifest Submission
- Pork and Liquor Import Permit Submission
These services will no longer be accessible through other channels, requiring all relevant stakeholders to register and utilize the Tradian portal.
The Ministry emphasized that this launch marks a major milestone in the digital transformation of the Maldives’ trade facilitation systems, enhancing efficiency, compliance, and coordination across agencies.
