The Maldives has actively participated in the two-day ‘High Level International Conference on the Implementation of the Two State Solution’ held at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
Leading the Maldivian delegation, Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed, Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the UN, delivered a speech during the plenary session, reiterating the country’s commitment to international efforts aimed at achieving peace and justice for the Palestinian people.
The conference, held under the UN General Assembly resolution on the “Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine,” includes a ministerial high-level meeting co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia. This meeting focuses on the outcomes of various working groups dedicated to advancing the two-state solution.
The Maldives’ participation reflects its ongoing support for establishing an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with UN resolutions.
