Indian Teacher Arrested for Injuring Student at Kandoodhoo School

Police have arrested a foreign teacher at Th. Kandoodhoo School, who allegedly injured a student by twisting and dislocating the student’s finger.

The incident was reported to police on the morning of May 26. According to police, the teacher, a male Indian national, grabbed the student’s finger, twisted it, and caused a dislocation. The student was treated at Th. Veymandoo Health Centre, the same day.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect was arrested yesterday under a court order as part of the ongoing investigation.

This case emerges amid growing concern over incidents of physical violence in schools. Police have also recently launched an investigation into a separate incident in Addu City, where a teacher allegedly struck a student on the head with a metal water bottle.

Both cases are currently under active investigation by the authorities.
