The Maldives has initiated high-level discussions with Turkish business leaders in a move to strengthen trade and investment ties between the two countries.
Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullah Khaleel and Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mohamed Saeed, led the Maldivian delegation at a meeting held in Istanbul. The meeting focused on enhancing economic cooperation across multiple sectors including tourism, renewable energy, agriculture, housing, real estate, port development, and technology.
CEO of Invest Maldives, Nuha Mohamed Riza, delivered a presentation outlining the Maldives as a growing destination for international investment, especially in the tourism sector. The event was chaired by Nail Olpak, Chairman of the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) and President of the Turkey-Pacific Business Council.
Prominent Turkish businesspeople representing various industries participated in the session, showing strong interest in future collaborations with the Maldives.
