Ooredoo Celebrates 20 Years of Innovation and Connectivity in the Maldives
Ooredoo Maldives is marking 20 years of trailblazing in the country’s telecom sector, having revolutionized connectivity and digital experiences nationwide. From being the first to introduce 3G, 4G, 5G AirFibre broadband, to connecting the archipelago with submarine cable-backed 4G+ and establishing cutting-edge data centers, Ooredoo has led the way in building a truly digital Maldives.
As part of its 20th-anniversary celebrations, Ooredoo unveiled a series of exciting announcements under the theme "Live Unlimited" — a commitment to ensuring customers stay connected with no boundaries, whether for entertainment, learning, or personal passions.
Key highlights from Ooredoo's 20-year milestone:
Exclusive Customer Giveaways:

In a national first, Ooredoo launched Apple Watch Cellular Service powered by eSIM for Apple Watch Series 10 and Apple Watch Ultra. This service will be free for six months to all mobile customers, after which it will be available at MVR 199/month. The Maldives becomes only the third country in the Ooredoo Group to offer this service.

Ooredoo introduced Smart(er) Home bundles with SuperNet, offering smart devices such as security cameras and smart doorbells, aiming to enhance home security and convenience. More smart devices are set to be added soon.
Fun Run & Masrace Events:
The popular Fun Run will take place in Hulhumalé this December and Addu City on June 27, 2025. Meanwhile, Masrace fishing tournaments will be hosted in three regions—Malé Atoll, North, and South Maldives—with island councils now invited to propose their islands as venues.
New Brand Ambassador:
Reinforcing its commitment to local talent and the fisheries sector, Ooredoo announced Rashid Adam, known online as “The Life of a Fisherman”, as its new brand ambassador. Rashid shares his authentic fishing adventures from Faresmaathoda, capturing a key part of Maldivian life.
