Government Assigns Healthcare Development Projects to State Companies

The Maldivian government has awarded the development of healthcare facilities across ten islands to three state-owned companies: Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), Fenaka Corporation Limited (Fenaka), and Road Development Corporation Limited (RDC).
MTCC's Projects:
HDh. Nellaidhoo Health Center
Sh. Milandhoo Hospital (MVR 110+ million)
K. Thulusdhoo Hospital (MVR 110+ million)
AA. Rasdhoo Hospital (MVR 185+ million)
GA. Villingili Hospital (MVR 185+ million)
Fenaka's Projects:
B. Kudarikilu Health Center (MVR 7+ million)
GA. Kondey Health Center (MVR 6+ million)
GDh. Nadella Health Center (MVR 6+ million)
Fenaka's projects are scheduled for completion within a year.
RDC's Projects:
ADh. Fenfushi Hospital (MVR 26+ million)
N. Velidhoo Hospital (MVR 108+ million)
These projects are set for completion by 2027.
During the contract signing ceremony, Health Minister Abdullah Nazim highlighted that under President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s leadership, the government is committed to enhancing island healthcare facilities. He emphasized that many island hospitals operate in deteriorating buildings with minimal upgrades, and these projects will significantly improve healthcare infrastructure for residents.
