Eydhafushi constituency MP Ahmed Saleem has reaffirmed that the monitoring of state funds will remain uncompromising, stating that any financial mismanagement—whether by the current or previous government—will be investigated.
Speaking at today’s Public Accounts Committee meeting, Saleem highlighted the committee’s strengthened efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in public expenditures.
“No committee has worked as hard as this Public Accounts Committee in monitoring how governments operate. This committee is studying issues related to all companies, investigating when offices make mistakes, and examining procurement matters,” Saleem stated.
He emphasized that oversight will be conducted impartially, regardless of the administration in power.
“Whether it is the incumbent government or a past administration, we are prepared to investigate any wrongdoing,” he said.
MP Saleem also underscored the importance of safeguarding public funds, noting that state resources originate from taxpayer contributions. He assured that the Public Accounts Committee will continue its efforts to uphold financial responsibility and transparency.
