People’s Majilis Opens Public Consultation for Two Key Bills

People's Majilis.
The People’s Majlis Secretariat has announced a public consultation period for two legislative proposals currently under review: the Bill on Prevention of Gang-Related Crimes and Other Dangerous Crimes and the Bill on Amendments to the Decentralization Act of Administrative Divisions of Maldives.
The Secretariat has invited public feedback on these bills, which can be submitted via email to the Judiciary Committee at judiciary-committee@majlis.gov.mv or in writing to the Majlis Secretariat.
The deadline for public comments on the Bill on Prevention of Gang-Related Crimes and Other Dangerous Crimes is set for 12:00 PM on the 20th of this month, while the Bill on Amendments to the Decentralisation Act has a submission deadline of 12:00 PM on the 15th of this month.
The Bill on Prevention of Gang-Related Crimes and Other Dangerous Crimes was submitted by MP Mustafa Hussain of Machangolhi South constituency, while the Bill on Amendments to the Decentralisation Act was proposed by MP Ahmed Zameer of Machangolhi Central constituency.
The public consultation aims to gather input from stakeholders and the general public before the bills move forward in the legislative process.
