The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) is set to host the first-ever ‘Maldives Culture and Food Festival’ at Central Park, Hulhumale’, on New Year’s Eve, December 31st, 2024, continuing into New Year’s Day, January 1st, 2025. The two-day festival will celebrate Maldivian cuisine, arts, crafts, and culture, offering both locals and tourists an immersive experience.
The festivities will begin on December 31st at 20:00 with a spectacular drone show, depicting a tourist's journey through the Maldives, followed by traditional cultural performances such as Boduberu and “Dhafi Negun.” The evening will conclude with a New Year’s Eve countdown, leading into a fireworks display to welcome 2025.
On January 1st, the festival will continue from 16:00 to 22:00, featuring food and arts and crafts stalls, as well as family-friendly activities including a climbing wall, bounce house, and a police and fire truck showcase. Attendees can also enjoy additional cultural performances and a Roboman showcase.
