Government of Maldives Strongly Condemns Storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli Settlers

The Government of Maldives has expressed its strong condemnation of the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards by Israeli settlers, carried out under the protection of Israeli occupying forces.
These violations represent an attack on the religious rights of the Palestinian people and Muslims worldwide. The repeated attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque are a direct assault on the principles of religious freedom and international peace, which must be respected and upheld by all nations.
In light of these actions, the Maldives reiterates its firm call on the international community to take decisive measures to hold the Israeli occupying forces accountable for their actions. The international community must ensure the protection of religious sanctities, safeguard adherence to international law, and uphold the tenets of international human rights law.
The Government of Maldives continues to firmly support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, advocating for the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine. A just and lasting resolution to the ongoing conflict can only be achieved through the recognition of Palestinian sovereignty, with the pre-1967 borders as the basis, and East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.
The Maldives stands resolute in its commitment to peace, justice, and the protection of human rights, calling on all parties to work towards a peaceful solution that ensures the dignity and rights of the Palestinian people.
