Maldives Immigration to Deport Instigator of Artificial Beach Violence

The Maldives Immigration has announced its decision to deport the primary instigator of the violence that erupted at Artificial Beach in Malé City on December 6, 2024.
In a statement shared on its official X account, the authority revealed that Amrit Singh, a 25-year-old expatriate, has been taken into Immigration custody with assistance from the Maldives Police Service. Arrangements are currently underway to deport him from the Maldives.
The Maldives Police Service received reports of the disturbance at approximately 18:22 hrs on December 6. Video evidence from the scene showed two groups of expatriates engaging in violent altercations. Following investigations, several individuals were apprehended in connection with the incident.
Controller General of Immigration, Shamman Waheed, assured the public that strict measures would be taken against all those involved in the violence.
