The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has confirmed that efforts to locate Raj Kumar, a Nepalese crew member who went missing from the cargo ship Seamax, remain unsuccessful. The incident occurred during the vessel's journey from Addu City to Malé.
According to the MNDF, a search operation spanning 104 nautical miles northeast of Fuvahmulah was conducted by vessels from the Southern Area Squadron. Despite extensive efforts, no trace of the missing crew member has been found.
The Maldives Police Service reported receiving a call last night regarding Raj Kumar's disappearance. It was noted that his absence was discovered when the ship was approximately eight miles from Fuvahmulah, midway through its voyage from Addu.
Both the MNDF and the police have confirmed that their respective search and investigative efforts are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
