Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) is showcasing the Maldives’ premier luxury travel offerings at the flagship event of the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Cannes 2024. The event, held at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès from December 2–5, features representatives from 12 industry partners, including renowned resorts such as Alila Kothaifaru Maldives, Amilla Fushi, Bliss Maldives Pvt Ltd, Finolhu Baa Atoll Maldives, JA Manafaru, The Nautilus Maldives, and Villa Resorts.
ILTM Cannes 2024 is a leading platform connecting luxury travel brands with global advisors, offering opportunities for in-person business meetings, educational sessions, and networking events. The Maldives’ stand at the event captures the essence of luxury tourism with visually stunning displays of opulent resorts, exclusive liveaboard experiences, and the islands’ natural beauty.
France is a key market for the Maldives, ranking as the 7th highest source of tourists to the destination. As of October 2024, 1,664,648 French travellers have visited the Maldives. MMPRC’s participation aims to strengthen its presence in this market and target affluent travellers seeking premium travel experiences.
The Maldives recently cemented its position as a leading global destination by securing prestigious accolades at the World Travel Awards. It won the World’s Leading Destination title for the fifth consecutive year and was recognized as the World’s Leading Green Destination for the first time in its history.
Through events like ILTM Cannes 2024 and ongoing marketing initiatives, including the Discover Maldives Webinar Series, Visit Maldives aims to enhance the country’s reputation as a luxury travel haven while attracting discerning travellers from across the globe.
